The Youth program at Second Baptist Church serves young people in 6th-12th grade. Youth participate in Sunday School classes, Sunday evening small groups, and Wednesday night games and Bible study. We do many summer missions opportunities, and youth-oriented conferences and retreats. Youth-specific opportunities help 6th-12th grades practice and participate in the larger mission of Second Baptist in Lifting Up Jesus, Loving People.
Spring Break Missions Projects
April 23rd, 24th & 25th
Sunday Mornings- 9:45 A.M. Youth Sunday School meets in our Youth room, upstairs in Building 3, behind the sanctuary. We always serve breakfast! From there, we go into the sanctuary together for the Morning service at 11:00 AM.
S.N.L. (Sunday Night “Live!”) – 6:00 P.M. We begin with serving a youth dinner and some time to fellowship, before breaking out into our small groups where we get into God’s Word and discuss the relevance of it in our lives today. We end the night by 7:00 PM.
Wednesday Nights- 5:45 P.M. We begin with a church family supper in the fellowship hall (Turner Building, Building 2). Supper is free to youth; children (adults are asked to pay $5 to offset cost of meals)
6:30 P.M. All of our students come together to begin our youth time, usually with some games in the gym or out in the back field. After thoroughly exhausting ourselves in trying to destroy one another in dodge ball, gator ball, Ultimate Frisbee, kickball, Battleball (say whaaat?!) or some other form of friendly competition, we head upstairs to the youth room for Bible study.
We are fortunate to have an opportunity for our Middle Schoolers to break out and have their own time of Bible study, and this allows our High School students to have some time for their own Bible study as well. We finish the evening at 7:30 P.M.
